WWE great John Cena has got into the Thanksgiving mood with a nostalgic throwback. The 16-time world champion in WWE has had some classic matches over the years against some great opponents. However, for this Thanksgiving, Cena has given us a glimpse of one of his great battles with Randy Orton.

Cena and Orton have shared one of the greatest rivalries in WWE history. The pair have competed against each other 10 times from 2007 to 2014. Over the course of these 10 fights in the WWE, they have given fans countless memorable moments. However, Cena has taken it even further back to mark Thanksgiving.

John Cena Celebrates Thanksgiving, Expresses Gratitude to Biggest Former Rival Randy Orton

‘Prototype’ took to X to share a video of his first meeting with Randy Orton. He captioned it with, “Cannot celebrate this day without being thankful for all the people who helped and grew along the way. Truly thankful for my time in OVW and @RandyOrton during those years. Take a look back at our final match in OVW! Happy Thanksgiving!”

The video showed an epic contest between young John Cena and young Randy Orton in the Ohio Valley Wrestling championship. This happened to be Orton’s last match in the OVW championship. And after a close fight, with each having their moments, Cena came out on top.

The American recalled the winning moment. He remembered that he dropped his lucky penny a few times in the match. Eventually, one time when he went to pick up his lucky penny, he had the opportunity to execute the “Protoplex” and finish Randy Orton.

Subsequently, Cena became the OVW champion and reigned for a while. Orton, on the other hand, moved on to bigger and better things. However, this match was only the start of their great rivalry. And clearly, Cena is grateful for the exciting rivalry with fellow WWE legend Randy Orton.
