India is carrying three openers to South Africa which leaves only two getting the nod in the India vs South Africa T20 series. Head coach Rahul Dravid faces a problem with too many options for the openers’ spot in the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are all competing for the position. Shubman Gill, who has performed well across all three formats, is likely to be chosen as one of the openers. The decision then falls between Jaiswal and Gaikwad. Jaiswal has impressed with his aggressive batting style and has shown consistency in T20Is, while Gaikwad has also displayed good form and consistency with the bat. However, it is likely that Jaiswal will have the edge due to being a left-hander with an aggressive style of play.
