Shan Masood has played 30 Tests for Pakistan. On the other hand, Shaheen Afridi has been a proven performer in T20 format taking 64 scalps in 52 games.
In a surprise move by Pakistan Cricket Board, PCB has appointed Shan Masood as the new Test skipper while senior pacer Shaheen Afridi will lead the T20I squad. However, the Pakistan board has not made any announcement regarding the 50-over format as yet. It must be noted that Babar Azam recently stepped down as the Pakistan captain in all three formats after their poor run in the World Cup being played in India.
