Babar Azam resigns as Pakistan captain following disappointing World Cup performance

Babar Azam has stepped down as the captain of Pakistan Cricket Team with immediate effect. The Cricket World Cup 2023 was his last assignment as the captain. After the WC campaign ended in disappointment with Pakistan failing to make it to the semifinals, Babar Azam has decided to step down ahead of Pakistan Tour of Australia in December. His captaincy record is as follows: Test: 20 matches, 10 won, 6 lost, 4 drawn, 62.5% W/L ODI: 43 matches, 26 won, 14 lost, 1 drawn, 64.63% W/L T20I: 71 matches, 42 won, 23 lost, 6 drawn, 64.61% W/L.
