Some players at the club were reported to be dissatisfied with the treatment meted out to Jadon Sancho by the Man United gaffer

It’s not uncommon for journalist Piers Morgan to use social media to rally against Manchester United and their manager Erik Ten Hag. A lifelong Arsenal supporter, Morgan returned to social media on Tuesday to send a message to the Red Devils, using the famous and controversial interview he had with then Manchester United player Cristiano Ronaldo a year ago. Morgan’s criticism comes in the aftermath of the club banning four media outlets from Erik Ten Hag’s press conference.

Manchester United lost their sixth Premier League game of the season after losing 1-0 to Newcastle United on Saturday. The result leaves the Red Devils in seventh place with 24 points, five points behind fourth-place Aston Villa. Several media outlets reported about a dressing room unrest following the loss at St. James’ Park.

Man United players were reported to have queried four of Ten Hag’s recruits. Some players at the club were also dissatisfied with the treatment meted out by the boss to Jadon Sancho. Since being dropped from the first team, he hasn’t featured for the club. Four media outlets, namely The Manchester Evening News, ESPN, The Mirror and Sky Sports were all banned from Tuesday’s press conference following the publication of the stories.

Piers Morgan livid

Man Utd’s decision to exclude the four media outlets was met with criticism from Morgan. He took to X (previously Twitter) to air his anger at the Dutch manager and the club. His first post had a reference of the Cristiano Ronaldo interview he did a year ago, where CR7 slammed the manager and the club.

REMINDER: Everything ⁦@Cristiano told me a year ago about Manchester United and Erik Ten Hag has been proven correct,” he wrote on X.

“Pathetic. You can pull this stunt when you’re the greatest manager of all time like Sir Alex, but to do it when you’re as bad as Ten Hag and the journalists are accurately reporting how bad you are, is laughable,” his next tweet read.

Morgan then went on to plead with other journalists to boycott Ten Hag’s press conference. “WTF? I hope every other journalist now boycotts this press conference in solidarity with their colleagues. And yes, I’d say exactly the same if Arsenal behaved like this,” he said.
