The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) have been remarkably successful in the Indian Premier League (IPL), winning five trophies. They have established a strong team but make valuable additions through the auction. Here are the top five highest buys by CSK in the IPL auctions.

Ben Stokes was the highest buy for CSK in 2023 at 16.25 crore. Known for his all-round skills, Stokes unfortunately got injured midway through the tournament.

In 2022, Deepak Chahar was bought for 14 crore after not being retained by the team. He suffered an injury before the tournament began, preventing him from playing.

Ravindra Jadeja was a significant buy for CSK in 2012 at 9.72 crore. Since then, he has been an important player for the team, taking 152 wickets and scoring 2,692 runs in the IPL.

CSK surprised everyone in the 2021 auction by acquiring Krishnappa Gowtham for 9.25 crore as an all-rounder. However, he did not play a single match in the season.

Kedar Jadhav secured his largest-ever IPL deal in the 2018 mega-auction when CSK paid 7.8 crore to hire him. He has scored 1208 runs but has yet to take a wicket in the IPL.
