The IND-W vs ENG-W first T20I match in Mumbai saw the fans suffer due to the poor arrangements at the Wankhede Stadium.
The women’s T20I series between India and England started with a bang in Mumbai’s iconic Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday, with a decent crowd coming in to watch the match. But the latter witnessed a poor bowling show by the Indian girls, as they ended up leaking 197 runs in 20 overs, despite getting a good start. Danielle Wyatt scored 75 from 47, while Nat Sciver-Brunt made a quickfire 77 of 53 deliveries.
Indian bowler Shreyanka Patil returned with figures of 2/44 in her four overs, while Pooja Vastrakar gave away 44 runs without picking a wicket, in her full quota of overs. But that wasn’t the only thing that went wrong at Wankhede Stadium. A few fans who were at the venue to witness the India vs England match had to suffer due to poor arrangements.
One of them took to X and said that the only screen working in the stadium was behind the fans’ seats. Meanwhile, it is important to understand, that the giant screens at such large venues are a necessity since the distance between the players and fans is huge.
On the other hand, another fan posted an image of the only scorecard at the Wankhede, which was on the other side, from where they were seated.
After the India vs England T20I series, both teams will play a Test match too, that would begin on December 14 in Navi Mumbai.
