IPL 2024 Retention LIVE: The D-Day is here. Indian Premier League franchises have until 4 PM on Sunday, November 26 to submit the list of retained and released players to the BCCI ahead of the IPL 2024 Auction. Once the deadline ends, the IPL 2024 Retention show will be live on JioCinema & Star Sports to announce the list of players. IPL Auction will be held in Dubai on December 19.
Currently, the IPL 2024 trade window is open with franchises making last-minute discussions before submitting the final list. Already, five players have been traded but the potential big name is Hardik Pandya.
While it is still not confirmed by either franchise, Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans are in talks over a sensational trade of Hardik Pandya. As per reports, Mumbai Indians will pay Rs 15 Crore but won’t be exchanging any players.

Remaining Purse
As announced by BCCI in 2022, there will be a Rs 5 Crore increase in the salary purse. After Rs 95 Cr last season, all franchises will have Rs 100 crore to spend from. Hence, Rs 5 crore will be added to the existing purse. Ahead of IPL 2024 Retention deadline, Punjab Kings are the richest at the moment as they have Rs 12.20 Crore left in the purse and with the addition of Rs 5 Cr, the purse will amount to Rs 18.20 Cr.
Furthermore, a lot will depend on the release and retentions. As per reports, Punjab Kings could release Sam Curran, who is on a Rs 18.5 Crore contract. By releasing him, PBKS can target high-profile bowlers like Pat Cummins or Mitchell Starc.
