Denmark will take part in Euro qualifiers this week and they will miss both United players in Slovenia and Northern Ireland encounters.

Manchester United are dealing with injury concerns going into the international break. The Red Devils face a blow as Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund pulled out of the latest Denmark squad. Both Danish stars were substituted in the previous Premier League win over Luton Town. Man United will play their next game after the international break so we can expect a recovery.

Denmark will take part in Euro qualifiers this week and they will miss both United players. Erikson picked up a knee problem after falling awkwardly in the first half against Luton. On the other side, Hojlund struggled with a hamstring complaint. The striker scored a brace one week ago in the Champions League.

The Danish FA has now confirmed that Erikson and Hojlund will miss out both Euro 2024 qualifiers against Slovenia and Northern Ireland. They issued a statement which reads: “Christian Eriksen and Rasmus Hojlund have both been injured and unfortunately have to cancel the upcoming games. National coach Kasper Hjulmand has instead selected Jesper Lindstrom and Jens Stryger Larsen for the decisive qualifying matches. We wish a very good recovery for the United duo.”

Man United manager spoke to the reporters when he was asked about the fitness updates of Eriksen and Hojlund: “We do an assessment and we have to wait 24 hours for the conclusion. So we’ll give the medical team 24 hours to see what the problem is, if there is a problem. You don’t want to miss any player. That is our season at this moment – we have so many injuries. But, therefore, you have a squad. We have talked about it many times. But, of course, the routine levels are dropping down, the routine levels in the team, in the way of playing. But, hopefully, players are coming back and those new injuries are not too bad.”

It’s not a great sign for Man United ahead of crucial ties in the Champions League and Premier League. The Red Devils are already missing Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans and Amad Diallo due to injury. Jadon Sancho is still waiting for his turn since the final week of August due to a tussle with Erik ten Hag. Man United are currently sixth in the Premier League table with 4 wins out of the last five matches.
