Chennai continues to face numerous challenges due to Cyclone Michaung, with widespread flooding and prolonged power outages being a common occurrence. Indian cricketer R Ashwin revealed that he has been without electricity for the past 30 hours, highlighting the severity of the situation.
Sharing his ordeal on Twitter, Ashwin expressed concern about the lack of viable options to address the issue, stating, “No power in my locality for more than 30 hours too. Guess that’s the case in many places. Not sure what options we have.”

Further emphasizing the gravity of the situation, Ashwin’s tweet was in response to another Chennai resident’s similar complaint about prolonged power outages. Reports indicate that the death toll due to Michaung has risen to seven, with over 61,600 people relocated to relief camps. Additionally, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has deployed 29 teams to Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Puducherry to initiate relief and rescue efforts.
