After being snubbed from Team India squad for IND vs AUS T20Is, Sanju Samson gave a befitting reply to selectors by smashing a fifty against Mumbai in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy.
After being put to bat, Kerala were reeling at 12/2 when skipper Samson arrived at the crease. The wicketkeeper batter scored a 83-ball 55 before getting dismissed by Tushar Deshpande.
Samson along with Sachin Baby (65*) put on a 126-run partnership for the fourth wicket.

Notably, Samson last played for Team India in August 2023 was expected to be part of IND vs AUS T20Is in the absence of several senior players.
However, the selectors preferred Ishan Kishan and Jitesh Sharma over the Kerala-born batter.
Samson, who made his T20I debut in 2015 and ODI debut in 2021, has played only 36 games in white-ball format. His last game for the Men in Blue was in Ireland T20I series where he scored 41 runs in 2 games.
What I have achieved is more than what I thought of: Sanju Samson
Despite being termed as ‘unluckiest’ for not getting enough chances in national side, Samson said that he is happy with what he has achieved so far and doesn’t consider himself unlucky.
“People call me the unluckiest cricketer. But where I’ve reached currently, it’s much more than what I thought I could,” Sanju Samson said in an interview with Dhanya Varma on YouTube.
