Mohammed Shami’s accomplishment took place in the World Cup semi-finals between IND and NZ at Mumbai’s Wankhede stadium. Shami shone for Team India, causing havoc for New Zealand in the first semi-finals in Mumbai. He was the only bowler in the line-up to take all four wickets, setting a record in the process. Shami also reached 50 World Cup wickets in the shortest amount of time, putting him in a list of legends. Even though the Men in Blue set a daunting 397-run target, they struggled against the Black Caps. Shami has taken 51 wickets in ODI World Cups in just 17 innings, leading the list of bowlers with the fewest deliveries to reach 50 World Cup wickets. In World Cup matches alone, Shami leads the list of Indian bowlers in terms of wickets, with Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath following closely behind. Jasprit Bumrah has 35 wickets, and Anil Kumble has 31 to his name. Koushik Narayanan November 15, 2023
