Insidesport takes a look at their predicted 7 for the Bengal Warriors in the PKL 2023 opening match against Bengaluru Bulls
Bengal Warriors eye turnaround of fortunes in the upcoming edition of PKL 2023. The team won their first title in 2019. However, they finished 10th in the last season.
Bengal Warriors will be playing with the same core group of players in the upcoming edition. Maninder Singh will yet again lead the side. They also have Shrikanth Jadhav, Vaibhav Garje and Shubham Shinde in the side. InsideSport predicts the Starting seven for the team’s opening match against Bengaluru Bulls on 4th December.
Maninder Singh will be leading the Bengal Warriors and he will be the main man in the raids. The experienced raider scored 238 raid points in the last season alone.
While he was released ahead of the auction, he has been retained by the squad after using the FBM card. He was bought for 2.12 crore this year. Bengal Warriors attack is dependent in him and his good show will provide a big fillip to the team’s chances.

Srikant Jadhav is another player who was released and then bought back by the team in this year’s auction. Jadhav played the role of secondary raider last season and scored 129 points.
With the team having once again shown faith in him, he will look to repay it with a much better show in the upcoming edition.
Vishwas S is likely to be the team’s third raider. The youngster was bought for 13 lakhs at the auction this year. He had earlier played four matches each for Puneri Paltan in 2021 and Patna Pirates in 2022. He has a great opportunity to make his mark in this PKL 2023 edition.
Shubham Shinde was also bought back at the auctiuon this year using the FBM card. He was the team’s second best defender last season with 43 tackle points. He will be the team’s leader in defence in the upcoming season.
Shubham Shinde will have a good partner in Right cover defender Vaibhav Garje. Garje also had a good season last year. In hi debut season, he scored 30 tackle points in 18 matches.
He was retained by the team ahead of the auction this year. Garje will look to continue his good performance in defence in the upcoming season.
The team acquired the services of the experienced Nitin Rawal for the upcoming season. The all-rounder can defend in the left corner while he has also shown his raiding prowess in the past.
He played for Haryana Steelers last season and bagged 35 tackle points. Nitin Rawal was bought for 30 lakhs at the auction this year.
Akshay Kumar is the only other defender in the team who has the experience of playing in the league. He made his debut last year and played seven matches for Haryana Steelers, picking up six tackle points.
Bengal Warriors spent 13 lakhs on the defender at the auction this season. He will be partnering Nitin Rawal in the left side of the defence.
