Indian Cricketer Criticizes ‘Animal’ Movie for Glorifying Misogyny

Animal movie has divided the internet, with the majority of the fans slamming the Ranbir Kapoor starrer movie as pathetic. The Sandeep Reddy film has shown women characters in a misogynistic way, which has not gone down too well with many celebrities as well. Jaydev Unadkat also did not like the Animal Movie and felt it was completely a waste of time. The pacer took to Twitter and termed the film as an absolute disaster.

In a now-deleted Tweet, the Saurashtra pacer criticized the three hours 21 minutes film for glorifying misogyny and then treating it as a ‘mere masculinity.’ Unadkat also opined that there is some kind of social responsibility for the entertainment industry as well, and such movies should not be made to influence youngsters in the wrong way.

Meanwhile, speaking about Unadkat, he is currently playing the Vijay Hazare Trophy for Saurashtra. The pacer is not part of the Test series against South Africa, as the selectors have placed their bets on Mukesh Kumar. The latest snub must be hard on Unadkat, as he was in the scheme of things in this World Test Championship (WTC) Cycle as he had a breakthrough season for Saurashtra in the Ranji Trophy 2021-22 season.

However, with age not by his side, the AJit Agarkar-led selection panel might have overlooked him. Nonetheless, Unadkat has a chance to redeem himself by proving his worth in the upcoming Ranji Trophy Season.
