Virender Sehwag is one of the greatest Test cricketer India has ever produced. He has a legacy in Test cricket. He is the only Indian batter who has scored two triple centuries. On 4 December 2023, Sehwag was very close to accomplishing a milestone that would have created a new pinnacle in Test cricket.

Sehwag was at the top of his game ten years ago when he scored 293 runs at the Brabourne Stadium against Sri Lanka. The former Indian batter was in such a magical touch that he struck Murali for 84 off just 76 balls.

Virender Sehwag had hit 40 fours and seven sixes in that Test cricket. The opener also became the third fastest Indian to 6000 Test runs in that time.

India won the game by an innings and 24 runs after bundling out the Sri Lankan team 309 runs.
